The perspective that is missing from my book "Roll of Thunder Here My Cry" is Stacey's and he's the brother of the main character Cassie. Stacey is often represented but you never know what his thoughts are it's only Cassie guessing his thought, and your hear him in dialogues and sometimes Cassie explaining his facial expressions. It is represented most of the time but not all the time since it's in Cassie's point of view and at some points they have to leave each other and you miss out on Stacey's part.
The effect it has on the book is suspension because I think if Stacey's perspective was in the book more then, the audience would have probably figured out what would happen next in the future since Stacey is mostly always in the problems/conversations with the adults and his friends. The reason why I think Mildred D. Taylor left out Stacey's point of view was to keep the audiences' mind going on what would happen next and where the plot was going even if it was on one point of view.
I think if Stacey's point of view was in the story more it would over shadow Cassie's because Cassie is just a ten year old girl an in the story she barley knows what segregation is an why the white people are treating her badly, so the audience would probably want a point of view where the character knows what's going on but they just want to see what he/she what do in the situation since they understand the problem. When the voices that are already there are standing out them the other point of views won't always be looked at but, they would be looked at when things get confusing and they want to know what's happening with curtain characters that they don't hear about.

Deadly Little Lies
One character relationship in " Deadly Little Lies " by Laurie Stolaz, is Camelia and Ben. Their relationship is very difficult and hard since Ben has a bad past (where he "killed" his ex-girlfriend) is still haunting him. In the book it would seem that Ben an Camelia are dating but Ben, is always pushing away and telling her that they shouldn't talk anymore which is confusing since they both like each other. I also think it makes sense because, Camelia is always seeming to get into trouble and the reason is always Ben.
The way their relationship changed was at first Ben was pushing Camielia away and telling her that they shouldn't talk anymore but, towards the end he takes back what he says and they go back out with each other. I think that they're relationship will change overtime because all relationships end up having some kind of conflict later because, all relationship can't always be happy an full of smiles. The reason why most relationships have conflicts is because there are problems that can affect each other and their are emotions that the couple can't control like jealousy. If one person is jealous and confronts the other then their could be a conflict, unless they don't fight but talk it out in a calm matter.

Deadly Little Lies
In the book 'Deadly Little Lies' by Laurie Stolarz. The main character is Camelia and I think the person that influences her is Ben, who's a second character in the book. Ben and they way he influences Camelia is by him being mysterious. Ben is always keeping Camelia to wonder about him and whenever she would ask a question and he would never answer it would always leave her wondering and questioning what's going on through his head and what he could be hiding.
I think sometimes the influences can be bad, since it would lead her into getting strange pictures of herself or death threats but, it would also help her get to know who she is and to know if she has psychometry powers - the ability to sense things through touch.

Cassie and her brother's (Stacey), relationship is very similar to brother- sister relationships in the real world. Cassie is nine and Stacey is thirteen so at points, they separate and join kids their own ages but, whenever Stacey is in trouble Cassie is always there to stick by Stacey's side and help him out, even if it puts her in danger.
I also think in the real world the little sisters always know how to trick they're older brothers and that's exactly what Cassie does to Stacey. In the book this is where Cassie tricks Stacey ," ' I ain't leaving until you tell me what happen to Papa ,' Cassie said leaning back against the wall ,' then I'll go get Mama ,' Stacey said back ,' Mama's to busy ,' and I knew Stacey would have to tell me ," so Cassie knows how to play with her older brother's mind and can trick him to get what she wants. Also when ever Stacey has to do something that can get him in trouble Cassie would always be there with him ," ' Cassie you go home with Christopher-John and Little Man while I go take care of T.J ,' Stacey said looking down at me ,' Mama said you can't go, and if you going then I'm going too,' even if it did cause' me a whipping from Mama I had to make sure Stacey would at least be okay ," Cassie is even willing to get in trouble for Stacey jut to make sure he's okay, which is some brother-sister relationships like today.
I also think that Stacey an Cassie's relationship will change over time because of the age difference. So when Stacey starts getting older to fourteen or fifteen he'll start going through puberty and start hanging out with kids his age more then his little siblings. The Cassie will start getting older too and start being interested in boys but, would always hang out with her younger siblings-Christopher-John and Little Man- but will also hang out with kids her age.

Reading Blog Post
In my book " Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry", by Mildred D. Taylor, Cassie Logan is the main character. Cassie is a nine year-old girl who lives in Mississippi. Cassie lives in a time where there is racism, so she doesn't understand much about why colored people don't have a bus or they have to wait in line for they're things. Cassie also has a temper so, she doesn't have a lot of patients. She's also very confused about this world and is always wondering about the land she owns and why it's so important.
I think Cassie and I are related because I also wonder about the world and wonder why racism exists and sexism, and bullying. I always wonder what would the world be like if racism never existed, would things be the same like they were today ? Cassie wonders why black people were the ones that were treated differently and I also wonder why too, how come it was never the other way around ? I feel like Cassie and I just wonder why was everything so confusing back then and also we don't have much patient. For Cassie when ever you talk about her family or try to pick up a fight with her she'll lose her patients immediately and her temper will come out. That's probably the same for me but I would just defend my self because, for my temper to come out I would have to be in a really really heated argument.
So in a way Cassie and are alike and we probably have the same emotions towards the same topic.

Response to "Am I Blue ?"
The story I just finished reading the story "Am I Blue ?" by Bruce Coville. This story is about a sixteen year old boy named Vincent. He's gay and he gets bullied but, his fairy godfather- Melvin - helps him and shows him, who people really are with three wishes.
In the beginning of the story Vincent gets beaten up by, Butch Carrigan and Vincent gets called a "fruit" and a "faggot" for checking him out, and it's wrong to just bully someone because he's checking someone out or for being gay. In the real world bullies sometimes bully other people because they could possibly be getting bullied to and just takes their anger out on other people or sometimes they don't like being what/who they are (like being gay) and they would also, take out their anger on other people.
In the story Vincent has three wishes and he uses one to make everyone in the country turn blue and I quote " Gay fantasy number three coast-to-coast ," and gay fantasy number three is one of the very wishes that fairies wanted to happen was, make everybody in the country turn blue to show people who they truly are and if they are gay. Another wish he made was " I want you to turn Butch Carrigan blue ," and after Melvin came back he said ," Butch Carrigan was already blue as a summer sky when I got there." One quote that stood out was " That congressman stayed on my mind. I couldn't forget his hypocritical words about 'The great crime of homosexuality' and 'The gay threat to the American youth' ."
So why are people so hypocritical about homosexuality, when they could be homosexual ? Is it of the bullying or would they just be embarrassed ? I think people should stop over exaggerating about homosexuality especially, those whoa re homosexual, they shouldn't try to hide and turn into hypocrites. Parents or other people could try to prevent their loved one from turning gay but, they shouldn't make a whole big deal out if it to make a law about same sex marriages now or be hypocritical, and try to stop the entire country from being who they are.
In the end Vincent starts accepting himself but very slowly " And my third wish? I've decided to save it for when I really need it-maybe when I meet the girl of my dreams. Or Prince Charming. Whichever." I think the message Bruce Coville is trying to send is to be who you are and to be proud too because, we're all different and you can't be like everyone else.

Drummer Boy of Shiloh
I just finished reading the story, The Drummer Boy of Shiloh, by Ray Bradbury, and it's starts off with a fourteen yearold boy that's a drummer boy named Joby, in the civil war, and he takes part in the Battle of Shiloh. Joby doesn't have any confidence in himself until he has a talk with the General and he gains his confidence from talking to the General.
The author does a good job by using something to symbolize Joby through out the story. The author uses a peach blossom as the symbol, to symbolize Joby's lack of confidence and how fragile he is. A peach blossom is young, small and fragile and it fits to symbolize Joby, a young boy who has yet to become a man. You can also hear how low his confidence by him admitting he would die in war," Me, thought the boy, I got only a drum, two sticks to beat it, and no shield " and in the beginning you can hear, he is hesitant and says " I think so sir ,".
One quote that stands out from the General's speech is when he says," You are the heart of the army ," and the quote matters so much because it's telling him he does matter and it also boosts up his confidence up even more, and if he is the heart of the army and he dies then it's saying if he dies then the whole army dies because he matters that much in the army.
Towards the end you can hear how much confidence he gained when he answers the General with no hesitation he says ," yes sir ," . At the end also it sounds like he has full confidence in himself and is ready for war when it says, " He swallowed, he wiped his eyes. He cleared his throat. He settled himself ". So I think he finally changes in the end and turns from a young boy and into a man.
In the end the lesson Ray Bradbury is trying to teach us is to, be more confident in yourself and I guess it is also showing that we always need a friend to lean on whenever we need help. And I guess he is also showing us that sometimes you can mean more to people then you really think.

Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry
In the book Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry a girl named Cassie learns how
to deal in a world full of racism and hate towards her for her skin
color, and tries to understand why the land her family owns is so
important. Cassie lives with her father, mother, grandmother ( known as
Big Ma ), and her four brothers Stacey the oldest, Chritopher-John the
third child, and Little Man the youngest. The family has their own acres
of land and struggle to keep it with the only money they have is when
their father goes off to the North where he works getting paid to lay
out rail road tracks. Cassie is a smart character and brave of the
things she's seen and experienced in the book like hearing about
burnings, seen fights, but most of all fought through the comments of
racism.
Some problems in the story that the family have to deal with is a group of white men called the " Night Men ", start to kill black people when they feel like they are stepping out of their place but really they haven't done anything but defend themselves. Another problem is one of Stacey's " friend " T.J, he's a mischievous boy who gets into a lot of trouble but, sometimes get's out of it but, not this time. When T.J start to hang out with white people and gets in trouble, he goes back and ask Stacey for help but, Stacey's always tired of helping his " friend " T.J. Another problem that happens to Cassie and her brothers the most is dealing with a school bus that always mud or water on them. The school bus that bullies them belongs to a white school, and the driver wants to " entertain " the kids so, he speeds up splashes mud towards Cassie and them. Little Man always wondered why they never had a bus but, they just told him that one day we'll get a bus but that day might not come so soon. And finally another problem is dealing with the land. They own their own land and it's a bug piece of land that a man named Mr.Granger is out for, he's always asking if their going to sell any land or if they need help by borrowing money, when really he just wants the land and nothing else.
In the story Cassie starts to experience some changes by trying to understand why the land is so important and since she has seen/heard of the burnings, Night Men, the bus, T.J, the racism and the land. Cassie stars to understand that they lived in a world where two colors would never mic and that hated each other and most of the tome her color is the one getting picked on. Even when she gets bullied by a white girl named Lillean-Jean she stood up for herself and it took a lot of bravery to beat her up since, back then if a black person beat up a white person, the black person would have to suffer the consequences. So Cassie does change through out the book and so does Stacey, he starts to realize that T.J isn't so much of a friend and he just uses people but, Stacey is a caring boy and is more of a friend to T.J by always helping him.
Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry is a very good book that has a lot of Climaxes and Problems in the story that could teach some lessons in then too.
